    Logic Installation advice
:o) A neat little package arrived. I am wondering, is it any good practice to install all additional content on an external harddrive instead of the mac HD? Any advanatage in doing this other than space? Thanks!

Hi! If you have a second internal drive or an external drive @ FW400 or better and runs at 7200rpm then I'd recommend installing the additional content to that drive. The general rule of thumb is the OS will run more efficiently looking after itself and running Logic on the system drive while streaming audio samples / recording audio to and (accessing that data from) an external drive. In practice, on my MBP I have installed all the content onto the internal drive for convenience and I get pretty good performance... having said that I tend not to record more than two audio tracks simultaneously. Enjoy Logic! Rounik

Hey Rounik, I thought so too. I run most of my sound content stuff from external 4TB Raid-0 via e-sata, which is blazing fast. :o) Unfotunately, the installation caused a lot of trouble and hung up over a e-licensed plugin from Korg. (legacy collection) I managed to force it through, but still there is a lot of trouble. Mainstage does not come further than initialising jampacks, and stops responding on start and so on. Updated all apps of course. :o( I am on to apple first thing in the morning. Hey btw. fantastic tutorials here, glad Susan (dreamaiden) recommended you guys! Best wishes Georg
