String animation in Sculpture...
I have been control-clicking the green string in the Sculpture synth for 10 minutes, and it refuses to produce the menu to either activate or deactivate the string animation. Anyone having a similar problem with Logic 9?

Hi Jamie, Welcome to the forums! Unfortunately, the string animation in Sculpture does not currently work in Logic 9 :( You can send feedback to Apple directly here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/logicpro.html Cheers Rounik

Thank you Rounik, for both the welcome and the help! I can clearly see in the manual that it should be available, so perhaps in a future update they will enable that. It isn't SO important for my use of the synth, but I'm the type that gets edgy when I find that something doesn't work correctly when I know it absolutely should. Thanks again, and GREAT VIDEOS! (Although I think the video for the EXS24 should be clearer...I was quite lost after that one.) Oh, by the way...In another thread you happened to mention creating sweeps like they use in electronica. I have been trying to figure out how to make those effectively, but haven't been able to find a way to get that sound. It isn't a filter sweep, yet isn't something achieved using the arpeggiator, either. It seems to be something in between the two. Any tips on this? I've only surveyed the Sculpture Synth (my favorite so far), the Ultrabeat, the EXS24, and a few of the TNT here and there, so perhaps I just haven't gotten that far yet...

I've found that the morph envelope is also buggy.I couldn't get any menu using right click on the mouse/ control click. It's a downer because the morphing/breeding of sounds is what made Sculpture so great. I've sent them a report and I hope that they can sort out fixes quickly. Jamie, I think it's best to look at the ES2 for those electronica sounds.Sculpture is component modelling and what yr after is what the ES2 is great at.Swoops and sounds that zip through the mix. All the best.

Thanks Pala! I have seen the tutorials on the ES2 as well, I forgot to mention that in the previous post. I'm thinking a good solid sound, an LFO, and some subtle animation in the arrange window is what needs to be done with some tweaking here and there. All about experimentation! Jamie

FYI, the contextual menu in the the Sculpture plug-in's Morph Pad & String Animation now works correctly in Logic 9.1. Christian

In addition to this, I assume the compatibility with 64-bit plug-ins is a good thing. I'm not sure what the 64-bit native mode does, but I'll take it!

64-bit native mode will work with 64-bit native plugins... basically meaning that plugins in 32-bit had a memory limitation of under 4 GB... and Logic as a 32-bit host could only use upto 4 GB ram. 64-bit host and plugins blows that out of the water :) ... 3rd party plugins need to be 64-bit to take advantage of this though. So far I know that Spectrasonics have their plug-ins in 64-bit on the Mac... but other developers, though they may have 64-bit PC versions will need to provide updates to take advantage of this. :) Rounik
