    On MIDI and synthesis...
Here's a general question for the admin people. Are there any tutorials that cover the basics of either MIDI or synthesis? I realize each gets covered somewhat in a number of the videos I've watched, but if you know of any series that covers either topic more thoroughly, I'd be interested. Thanks

Hi Sammy, What do you mean by the basics of MIDI? Do you mean in Logic or MIDI hardware? I was thinking about MIDI specifically in Logic. And I just checked my email and found the link about that other title you mentioned.

Hi Sammy, Well, manipulating MIDI data within Logic is covered in Logic 101, 201, TNT1 & 2. Synthesis is covered nicely in both the 205 Synthesis with Sculpture & 206 ES2 Exposed. Of course synthesis is covered here in reference to the relevant synths in Logic ;-) Hope that helps Rounik

Thanks for these suggestions. I picked up the TNT videos a while back, but haven't even started them yet... A bad habit, but now it's winter, and I have more time.

Hi Sammy, definitely make the time for the TNT series. Steve H does an amazing job at breaking all kinds of things down in to a very followable language! You'll get heaps out of it!

Do check out the "Analog Synthesis in a Digital World" tutorial. It gave me a good understanding of the basics of synthesis, which is a new topic for me. I suspect that if you go through all of the Logic tutorials you will get a pretty thorough education on how synthesis and MIDI work.

Thanks all. I've started hopping through the pile I haven't touched yet. So far, so good.
