So I click on my Apple at the top left corner, select Firewire under the hardware arrow, and under the Firewire Bus it says "Up to 800 Mb/sec" is the maximum speed. Under the Duet, it says that both the maximum AND connection speed are "up to 400 Mb/sec." I'm pretty sure I connected the Duet to my iMac through the 800 port using the 800 cable that came in the box. Why does it say 400? Jamie

Hi Jamie, The Apogee Duet is a Firewire 400 device. It has a FW400 port. It is possible that Apogee provided you with a FW400 to 800 converter cable as you purchased the Duet recently... There should be no issue running a 400 device through a 800 port. :) Rounik

Hi Rounik, Yes, they did provide a converter cable. I was just mistaken in thinking that if it's going through an 800 port, it would have maximum capability. After looking at the specs on the Apogee site, I saw that 400 is in fact the maximum speed for the Duet itself regardless of connection. I haven't had any problems at all with it, though. Hi Jamie Glad you're still enjoying the Duet! Btw there isn't an audio interface that I've come across yet that is true FW800. That may change in the not so distant future though. :) Rounik
