Any way to tie flexi-stretched regions to automation?
I've just begun using the flex-edit stuff, which is beautiful. However, I encountered a situation where I had an audio region in a track, and had applied a filter sweep manually as it played. Afterward, I decided to stretch the region, and it appears that the automation stayed the original length, so the parts of the region that extended past the original automation had no filter sweep. It just flat-lined. Any thoughts?

Hi Sammy, Yes... there is a way to time stretch automation events in the same way that you can time stretch regions. If you have the Logic 303 TNT2, Steve shows some great Automation tips... really, really great! Here's a the low-down: 1. Time stretch your audio region as desired. Make a mental note of where the existing automation ended and where it needs to be to fit the audio region. 2. Open the Key Commands window and find / create the key command for: Automation Event List. (Once you know this, you won't need to repeat this step in the future). 3. Open the Automation Event List. 4. Without performing any other function open a new arrange window: CMD - 1 5. The new Arrange window will display the Automation as regions! Resize the region to fit and Option-drag it to time stretch it to match the flexed audio region. (You can close the 'Automation Event List' now if desired.) N.B. It might be useful to arrange your screen so you can see both Arrange windows... one showing the flex or automation on the audio regions and the other just displaying the automation AS regions. Hope this makes sense. :) Rounik
