    Beat map / Flex question
Thanks Rounik for the beat-mapping advice. My next question regards the correct procedure I should follow if I wanted to subsequently use Flex Mode on the 'beat-mapped' audio track. (Or at least know that it's available if needed). I have so far ' understood' it as this : Delete the tempo information in the audio file using Option > Tempo >Remove tempo information from audio file. Then..Beat Map.. Then ..Options > Tempo > Export Tempo Information To Audio File It's led to some confusion as to whether I should have deleted the tempo information from the audio file as soon as I had recorded the original rhythm guitar file. THEN Beat -mapped.Then exported tempo info to the file. As it is ..I have a beat-mapped track but it will not be good for Flexing. I may have to go back and start again on the original.Unless I can Remove tempo Information at any time ? I would like to know a procedure that states the steps to follow when recording a free-flow-tempo audio track.....through to beat-mapping it, then finally onto a ready-to -Flex file. I find the term ' Remove the tempo information...' blurry for me. Does that mean the removal of beat-mapped information , or just the the tempo information of the project tempo at which the original was recorded or BOTH ? Thanks again for everything. This would really complete my understanding and hence free me up to do a lot of songs in one go.

Re: Beat map / Flex question
I wouldn't necessarily remove the tempo info from the file... but then again, I haven't needed to flex after beatmapping. Remember that beat mapping is the process of matching Logic's timing grid to a performance. Flex allows you to correct timing mistakes of a performance and essentially match it to Logic's timing grid. If you don't remove the tempo info from the audio file, what results do you get after beatmapping and then flexing the audio? Also how much flexing are you doing? Large corrections or minor ones? The later should work better... but your mileage will depend on the audio material you are working on. :) Rounik

Thanks Rounik for all the advice. There's ample for me to work on now that I know what's what. Cheers : ) P.S I also think that Olav Basoski and Richard Lainhart deserve some praise for their wonderfully informative works here.Their tutorials are A1.

Hey logicluvva, No problem! We're here to help. Thanks for the comments about Olav and Richard. I for one, fully agree! Best way to let them know this is to leave a review for their respective tutorials. You can do so on their specific tutorial page. I know they'd really appreciate it :) Cheers Rounik
