Re-interpreting the downbeat of an Apple Loop

I wonder if anyone can help me with this. I'm learning Logic 8 and ran into an interesting problem. I really like a certain Jam Pack Rhythm Section Apple Loop called "12-8 Jazzy Drumset 01"---but I hear it in 3/4 instead of 12/8.
This means that the accent which Logic interprets as the second beat (dotted-quarter) of a 12/8 bar, I hear as being an accented UPBEAT to beat 2 of a 3/4 bar, and so forth, in a kind of New Orleans vibe.
At any rate, I would like to get Logic to re-interpret the loop the way I hear it, so that I can build a song over it in 3/4. "Adjust Tempo Using Region Length and Locators" doesn't help--and besides, it's not the tempo I want to change, just Logic's interpretation of where the beats fall. Any ideas? Thanks!
