    Logic Pro mute
Hi Guys, i had a friend round today who was moaning about Logic 8/9 mute region function. He said in Logic 7 as soon as you muted a region, playback of that region muted immediately. We tried muting regions in logic 9 and it took about 2 to 3 seconds for the region to mute. I am referring to audio regions here, as midi regions mute straight away. Any thoughts on why this happens guys? mtec

    Re: Logic Pro mute
Hi mtec, It's to do with the way Logic's audio engine works. I can't remember if muting audio regions in Logic 7 was instant when using the Preferences > Audio > General > (Fast track mute/solo) mode ... but you're correct, no matter whether using fast or slow (CPU saving) mute/solo mode muting audio regions is not instant when Logic's transport is running :( I like to mute the track directly (Control+M) to get instant results... :)
