Soundtrack as audio editor
Hello everybody, I've been trying to use Soundtrack as a audio editor within logic 9, using the shortcut [shift w] I edit the file, save it, close soundtrack window, go back to logic by clicking on the arrange window, and from there: - Either Logic crashes right away - Or my audio file is absolutely empty, inaudible. But I never got it to work. Has anyone an idea? I have LP 9.1.3 ad STP 3.0.1 Many thanks

Hi Steff, Sorry to hear you're encountering this bug. It works fine for me. Can you provide more details on your system specifications; e.g. Mac, processor, ram, OSX version and whether you have the latest ProKit updates from the Software Update... Also what file types are you working with" sample rate, bit depth, mono/stereo, file format (wave, aiff, etc.) Thanks Rounik

Hello Rounik, Thank you for your support. I have OS 10.6.5 on a MBP 2.53 with 4gig of ram I've just tried again with a 16 bit 44.1 aiff file, and logic crashed. I don't know what you mean with Prokit. I have LP 9.1.3 and ST 3.0.1 which I think are the latest versions. By the way, about the other post, Logic doesn't obey to my Oxygen keyboard anymore and I don't know what changed between now and the other day when it was working just fine. I'll try to trash the pref. May be it will solve both problems if I'm lucky... And I have to be lucky by now!!!

hmmmm.... this is odd... Pro Kit is software that's normally updated automatically whenever you run 'Software Update' from the Apple Menu. Have you tried repairing permissions: http://www.macprovideo.com/forum/general/general-general&id=13874 Has anything been updated (e.g. OS, Logic, etc) since your Oxygen Controller stopped working? If so visit the M-Audio website and download the latest drivers for the Oxygen. Have you tried unplugging the Keyboard, restarting your Mac, and re-plugging everything in? Does it work ok in Garageband? As for the STP issue... one workaround is to bounce the file (if needed) and open up SoundTrackPro manually and import the audio file manually and process it there. When you're done save as... (or save directly over the file if you want to) and import the file manually into Logic... Not ideal, but if that doesn't work then I'd be very surprised... Trash the STP and Logic preferences (move them to the Desktop) and see how that goes too. Hope that helps R

Hi, I think I'm good now. Trashing the STP prefs made it. And the new drivers for my oxygen too, apparently. So simple actually!! I'm a bit ashamed :-( Thank you
