Hi all, I am working on a fairly large project using lots of midi instruments. I want to bounce everything to stems for mixing. Is there a video or thread that someone can point me to that shows a decent workflow method for this? Thanks, hope everyone is well John

Hi John Page 1020 of the manual shows a pretty good way - "Exporting Individual or Multiple Tracks as Audio Files". It looks like this will bounce each track simultaneously to a new audio file. Or you could keep it in-house (and simple) and bounce each track to a new audio track one by one - it'll take a bit longer though. You can even go as far as avoiding bouncing altogether, by just recording each midi track to a new audio track in real time. I remember Mojave having a pretty good method that made sure each new audio file ended up being the same length, I just can't find it at the moment. I'll keep looking though, I know its in here somewhere! Hope that helps Cheers Hamish

There is another way I prefer - which doesn't export EVERY track (with a region on it) including the Aux channels (stems). 1. Set up sends from your tracks. e.g. - Tracks 1-8 send to Bus 5. - Tracks 9-11 send to Bus 6. - Tracks 12-16 send to Bus 7. 2. Create three new audio tracks (one for each stem) and name them as desired. 3. Set the input for each new audio tracks to correspond to the Bus numbers for each stem. 4. Record enable the three (or however many) audio tracks and record from the beginning of the project to the end point (or as desired). You've now recorded your stems in real-time to their own audio tracks and the audio files are in the Bin. HTH Rounik

Yep, thats my preferred way too - thats what I was referring to when I said "recording each track to a new one i real time". I like it because a) everything stays within the Arrange page, and b) you can keep your ears on everything as the new tracks record. It takes a little longer than an export though so it comes down to your workflow! H

Yup, very true -- can take longer than an 'Export all tracks...' Though if you have many stems and the project is pretty short... it can be comparable in terms of time... Another way to do it is to solo your desired tracks for "stem 1" and choose File > Bounce... (offline) and then repeat the process for all stems. :)
