Hi brezerkr What do you mean "Split by locators" is missing? Do you mean it doesn't appear in the Tool Bar in Logic? If so simply right-click on the toolbar and choose to display it. It sounds like your system crashed during the power outage? Then perhaps Logic's Preferences file got a bit upset! You could trash the preferences file (by dragging it to your Desktop): 1. Go to [Home folder]/Library/Preferences/ 2. Move the file "com.apple.logic.pro.plist" to your Desktop. 3. Launch Logic. (Logic will create a new preferences file automatically). Also, the latest version of Logic 9 you can run on a G5 Mac is 9.0.2 - are you sure that you are running a version lower than 9.0.2? (Check in the Logic Pro > About Logic menu). If so, then run Software Update and check for available updates. HTH Rounik

I second Rounik's diagnosis... your preference file got corrupted as a result of the power outage. Please, please, do yourself a huge favor and buy a UPS -- an uninterruptible power supply. It's the best gift a digital musician can give theirselves! Even if you think that that outage was a fluke, things like this can happen more than you might like to think, especially when you're living off of batteries. (And congrats on that, btw. I'm now officially jealous! Me and my wife have talked about converting to solar and, cash willing, one day we'll do it). I've attached a link below to a place where I've purchased my UPS's from which has great deals and great technical support too. I used to live in an area with frequent power outages, and these became indispensable. But now that I live in earthquake country, they're running my system full time. In case of an outage, I can run my entire studio off of my UPS's for 1/2 hour (and stay on the internet too!!) http://www.refurbups.com/ Go for one of the "Smart UPS" models. Actually, let me stress, "only buy one of the Smart UPS models". One of the tower models should be just fine (I have two). Avoid the rackmount models, though, as they're very very noisy. Good luck!

ROUNIKdamn, your right, thought i was sure, alas, 9.0.2....thanks for your time and patience. all is again well. SKI ., i left my ups in NY when i moved up here(CO), trying to get it shipped, couldnt agree with you more on it! this house is completly off grid, so i have been keeping computer system shut completly down, and only powering up mid day (when sunny of course)when i have some time to record. while that is a bit of a drag, i am otherwise loving life off the grid!
