I've been rushing a couple of projects, and often bouncing the final mix offline. I just noticed that the result is an AIFF-C file, not the usual AIFF. Am I missing something in the bounce specs? And what is the difference between the two?

Hi Sammy I wasn't even aware that you could export to AifC format. This is a compessed version of Aiff format. Are you sure this file was created in Logic and not something you imported into Logic? What were your bounce and project settings? Thanks Rounik

No, it's all my own material, created solely in Logic. I did a PCM Offline bounce, set to Include Audio Tail, Normalized as Overload Protection Only; File Format: AIFF, 24/48, Interleaved, no dithering. I believe this has only happened with the files that I've done offline. I usually use Realtime, but I was rushed and creating a pile of tiny files. I haven't had any complaints from the game company about the files, but I just noticed this difference...

Strange. I've never noticed this and I do most of my bounces offline... Wish I could test this out but I'm likely to be away from Logic for for at least a week unfortunately. I don't think an offline bounce would affect this btw. What if you try an offline bounce with normalise turned OFF? Also what sample rate and bit depth were the audio files used in the project? And what about the sample rate of the project? Any freeze files used? Thanks Rounik

Tried one with No Normalizing, and it created a regular AIFF, so that must be the issue. I generally work at 24/48. No freeze files.

Thanks Sammy, Interesting when I get back on Logic in 10 days or so I'll try this out. Personally I never use the normalise feature in the Bounce window. Much prefer to go the route of using the adlimiter on the Stereo Output channel. Thanks :)
