    Grouping - Aux tracks
Hi Guys, I'm just experimenting with grouping tracks, I see you get the option to hide the tracks in the group. What I think I need to do is create an Aux track? To have one track that I can see (Arrange and Mixer) which I can use to alter the vol, put on plugins etc. How do I do this? Cheers, Pete

I think I can weigh in on this one! In the mixer, click-drag, or shift-click on all the tracks in the group. Then go to the output slot in one of the channel strips, and select the next available bus. Since you have all the tracks in the group selected, it will change all the outputs to the bus at the same time. Once you have changed the output to the bus, Logic will create an aux channel for you, with your selected bus as the input. It's a good idea to rename the aux channel strip, i.e. if it's the drums, change it from "Aux 5" or Aux whatever, to "Drums submix." Then you can hide the members of the group, and still be able to control the volume, panning, etc. of the group as a whole. best wishes, M

That worked great, thanks for a good clear explanation Morry! Now, is it possible somehow to have these Aux tracks (Drum Submix etc) appear in the arrange as well as the mixer window? Cheers, Pete

Yes. Right click, or control-click, on the aux channel strip. On the popup menu that comes up, at the very top there is the option to "Create/Select Arrange Track." Choose that, and a track for the aux channel will show up in the arrange area. Best of luck, M

All good, just one question - why the green line around a channel strip in the mixer, as well as the white 'selected' highlight? Cheers! Pete

Oh I get it, the green outline is the track selected in arrange! Cheers! Pete
