why is the sample editors 'reverse' function greyed ou
why is the sample editors 'reverse' function grayed out? I am trying to just revers a cymbol hit from the stock Apple loops. I'v re copied the file to my project folder so as not to ruin the original apple loop. is there a better way? I own Logic 101.105. & 303 but I don;t see a lot about the Sample editor in them. amerikiwi

That is because the file is an appleloop. To reverse it, (or apply fade in fade out with the fade tool, etc), you need to export it as an stndard aiff file. Select the appleloop region in the arrange window. Go to "File/Export/Region as audio file". Export it as aiff and import it back to your arrange window. You will then be able to do the reverse function.
