    SL MkII vs. MicroKorg
I'm thinking of purchasing either MicroKorg or SL MkII 25 late next month. I've already got a couple of good keyboards with a nice feel, so i'm not overlay worried about what the keys are like. But I was wondering what I would get the most out of. i've got a couple of soft synths that i could use in place of the MicroKorg and i don't yet have a MIDI controller or a control surface (excluding an iPad with TouchOSC. But I hate touch screens for stuff like that!!) I feel like i could really use a controller, but at the same time, i'm yearning for a hardware synth. what should i get?!?!

I have to say I'm pretty happy with my Novation (61SL Mkll). I don't know what the 25 is like, but if it has any of the functionality of the the 61, go for it. It's a little touchy to set up (it puts a "wrapper" around all your plugins so its Automap software can find and map/control them, and it can get finicky especially if you switch back and forth between 32-bit and 64 bit mode), but once you get it right, all your plugins? Mapped automatically to the controller. It's pretty impressive.

Thanks for your reply Morry. I think i'm going to get the Novation. It just sounds too good.

I think you'll enjoy it. One caution; it doesn't switch between 32-bit and 64-bit modes with grace and/or dignity. You'll want to stay in 64-bit mode as much as possible. My one complaint about it.
