I am trying to record bass tracks for a song that was written by a friend that lives out of state. I open a new session, and create a track for my bass. The track plays, and I get a good signal. I then create a second track for the song, which is n mp3 form. with that track created, I import the file from my itunes and it shows up just fine. I hit the space bar and it plays fine as well. The problem is, when I hit the space bar, the mp3 track will play, but the output to my bass goes away! The meters stil show signal, but you dont hear anything. 1st track- "I" is selected/ "R" i selected/ Outputs 1 and 2 are selected 2dn track- No Input is selected/ Output 1 and 2 is selected. This is the only issue I'm having at the moment and if anyone can help, Id be thankful. Using- macbook pro, logic pro 9, apogee duet for mac

Quite strange. Try the following. Open a new Logic project. Add the MP3 track to the project. Now bounce this out, and set the format as either a Wav or Aiff files. Set the sample rate and bit depth the same as your other project. Now pull this Wav/Aiff file into your project. And see if it does the same thing. If it does there may be something wrong with the track you are using to record your bass. Delete that track, and setup a new one. See if the same problem persists. If it does I'll give you some other things to try. Let me know how it goes.
