hi, i just got logic express 8. i was watching a demo from apple on utube, it says you can punch in by just selecting a section inside a region. but when i try it just moves the region? cheers Rob

What snap setting do you have? Is it shift left/right? Keep it on overlap. What tool are you using to select "inside" the region? Rounik

ok, the snap setting has no overlap, but ive changed drag to overlap,no difference. Im just using the cursor to select inside the region. cheers Rob

Ok, thanks for the link! Here's how to do it. 1-) Make sure the track is record enabled (Click on the "R" in the track header). 2-)Select the Marquee tool (the last tool... the one like a +) 3-)Click and Drag to select the part of the region you want to punch. 4-)Hit Record. That's it!

thats great, but now when i try to record i get a dialogue box saying Record drive / partition "MPC @" not found! Any help? thanks again Rob

When using these templates do the following : 1-)Save your Project (Save as) on your Audio Drive. 2-)Choose File > Project > Consolidate... 3-)Click Ok. Problem solved!
