    viewing track record buttons
hello - I cannot see the track record buttons (only mute & solo) when using Logic Express 7. I have a G5 PowerMac (7.2) running OS X without any additional soundcards or interfaces. If anyone could offer advice to get me up & running I would eternally grateful!

Unfortunately the drop down view menu (recording track is ticked) only provides an empty column.

Hi Falk Go to: Logic Express > Preferences > Audio Make sure core audio is enabled in the Audio or Devices tab. Let us know if that does the trick! Cheers Rounik

thanks for the help Rounik. I had to reboot logic but on the restart there is now a progress bar that is stuck scanning Audio Units (seems to be struggling to find "EXSP24") and i have the colour wheel spinning continously. Annoyingly i have to leave the flat now but will cross my fingers that it is behaving when i try again on Sunday. have a good weekend ; )

Hi Falk when the audio units manager scans for a long time - that can be normal for the first time. If it was stuck it might be due to not being able to validate 3rd party plug-ins. Do you have any on your system? You can initiate the Audio Unit scan process outside of logic. In the Applications folder look for 'AudioUnit Scan' It seems strange that Logic would have trouble finding EXSP24 as it's a built in plugin.... Have you moved any files around that are connected to Logic? If the audiounit scan keeps hanging i'd recommend repairing permissions: Go to : Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility. Select your HD and 'repair permissions'. Then restart. Let us know how you get on. Have a good weekend too :-) Rounik
