    Midi Keyboard Lag
I have noticed that when I press a key on my external midi keyboard there is maybe a half second lag. That isn't going to work for me. I obviously cannot play along to things and record with this problem. I have a MacBook with 1 and a half gigs of ram, leopard, logic 8.1, 80gb hd. I usually only run Soundflower and Itunes while logic is opening. Is it a lack of resources issue? Anybody have a solution to this? thank you!

have you changed your buffer settings? Logic Pro > Preferences > Audio Lower numbers = less latency Higher numbers = less taxing on your computer Also, try toggling 'low latency mode' on/off - some find it better using it, others not so. Another tip, don't put latency inducing plugins on your tracks or master until you really need to or begin mixing. Cheers Rounik

So I would want low latency?

yup :-) low latency = less time between when you hit a key or play a note and when you hear it through Logic. However, remember the special 'low latency mode' button hasn't always provided the best results for everyone so try my other suggestions first. Let us know if it helps. Cheers Rounik
