    Cycle Recording
Hello everyone. I'm trying to do some cycle recording, but everytime I hit the record button the song DOES NOT sync-up: the regions in the tracks sound OFF and NOT IN-TIME with one another. However, when I DO NOT hit the record button and just play the song naturally, the regions all line up: this is from the beginning of the song. I'm stumped on this one. Any help? Thanks. Jodie

Hey Jodie This is a strange one... Have you tried repeating your recording steps with different I/O Buffer settings? Cheers Rounik

Heh Rounik, Yeah, very weird, eh! I haven't tried changing buffer settings yet! Would that make a difference ya think? I thought it was cuz it was just happening at the beginning of the song, but when I placed those regions down the time line of the track, the same thing happened! I just changed the buffer size but no luck. Also, I thought it was my device setup, I had it on my audio interface, but I'm at work now, hahahahaha, so I changed it to INPUT, but same thing! Totally stumped as to why the regions aren't lining up when I hit record! Things that make ya go hmmmmmmmmmmmm! Jodie

hhhmmmmm.... ;-) Does it work ok if you try and record without cycle mode on? try starting a new logic project or a different one and see if the same thing happens. Rounik

Heh Rounik, Yeah, it seem fine with other NEW projects. Very strange why those regions don't line up when I enable the record button? Jodie

Hey Jodie It could be a corrupt project file (quite unusual in my experience-but a great reminder of the need to back up as often as possible) or some setting in the Project settings. If you want to upload the project I'll take a look at it if you like. You can use www.sendspace to upload a compressed version of the project and then copy the address location and post it here. Heh Rounik, Thanks for the sendspace link. I just signed up. Here is the file of the song. It's not a song-song: I just started it yesterday when I ran into the recording (regions not lining up when hitting the record button) trouble. Thanks. Jodie http://www.sendspace.com/file/0vrlyg

OK man. No hurry or anything. It's only 3 tracks lasting about 10 seconds. I was trying to figure out why it wouldn't sync-up. Thanks Rounik. Jodie

Hey Jodie I tried downloading the file, but only got the Shure 58 Song.logic-f24s.aif It's a very very small file. In order to look at your issue I'll need the Project folder that contains the .logic project file, the audio files folder, etc. If you want to know how to make a compressed disk image of this folder I can detail the process. Cheers Rounik
