    Logic Pro 8 and MOTU 828 mk3
Hello, I'm just a new guy to Logic Pro 8. I am going to buy a firewire digital interface at around US$800. Knowing that MOTU has already released 828 mk3, can anyone tell me more about that? Is that 'compatible' to LP8? Does it make good sound for LP8? If I try to use the effect from 828 mk3 instead of LP8, would it be a wise decision to lower the burden of my Macbook Pro CPU? Thanks!!!

I don't have a mk3. But I have used an 828mkll since 2004 and it has been a rock-solid piece of equipment. First with DP, (even worked with Cubase VST 32/OS9 on a G4.) Absolutely problem-free with Logic Studio! MOTU makes very versatile, stable hardware that is compatible with a wide range of operating systems both Mac and PC. An Apogee Duet sounds sweeter, but the 828 provides more diverse options for connecting various types of equipment. Cheers

Just got a brand new 828 mk3, so exciting. It sounds great when I turned the rom play in my JV1080 and Virtuoso 2000. However, when I run my project in Logic Pro 8, it's funny to find that I could only hear the external midi devices but no software instruments. The 'Out' LED was on but I just couldn't hear anything. I tried to play my iTunes songs, it got great sound. So, can anyone help me, please?
