Sample Start and End Points in Ultra Beat.
Hello Steve, I've bought your Ultra Beat tutorial next week : Very Good. But I have a little problem to solve in Ultra Beat Logic 8 : When i import sounds in Ultra Beat Osc 2 window i unfortunately can't access in the starts and end points of the file imported. I have a text below the sample window wich says sample start via velocity but i can't change it to make appear the sample starts points ... If you can give me any help it would be very nice from you. Best Regards from Paris. Olivier aka OB.one

Hi OB.one, What you need to grab are the green Min and the blue max tabs and slide them around! These set the range that enable the step sequencer's velocity sliders to pick different sample start points. You can also trigger different start points with velocities from your keyboard controller. Have Fun!, Steve (from New York)

Hey Steve, Just thought this might help put the above post in context with more info. ObeOne knows about the Min and Max that respond to velocity but wants a more start/end point situation: http://www.macprovideo.com/forum/logic/logic-pro-express&id=8306 I've been trying to "catch you" but hey, you're just too quick ;) Rounik (from Bristol)

Hello Steve and Rounik, Thanx you're very nice to reply me so quickly. But yes i don't want to use the velocity to control the sample starts and end points. I would love to find again the arrows to manually set the sample starts points in Ultra Beat Osc 2 Window in Logic 8. I already did it with following Steve tutorial and now every time i open Ultra Beat i don't know to access to this feature. Rounik told me it was a feature in Ultra Beat Logic 7 only, am sure i did it once in Logic 8 ! ... Or i dreamt ? ... :) Waiting a reply of Steve Thanx in advance Olivier aka OB.one

simple... Just place the min and max tabs at the exact same place in the wave where you want the sample player to begin. That way the sample will begin at that point nomatter the velocity! Have fun, OB 1!!
