You can also click and drag the little white rectangle that indicates the end of the song along the top of the arrange window. It's in line with the green cycle region indicator.

I had the exact same issue when i started using Logic 8. Had no idea what it was, and it actually went away after a while. Whenever it happened i could only get around it by restarting Logic. It may have been fixed in a software update, so you could try updating Logic using the software updater in System Preferences.

I got a brand new Macbook 2.2 which came preinstalled with leopard, and i am using logic 8. I'd bought everything new and Logic Studio was the first thing i installed on it (it was a glorious day indeed). As i said i haven't encountered the problem recently. It was only ever when browsing through specifically instrument presets and jam pack instruments in the media tab on the right.

I was wondering if it was possibly to change the default EQ plugin that is inserted when the EQ display in the channel strip is double clicked. And i guess while i'm on the topic of EQs, it would be nice if the EQ preview display on the channel strip could reflect the curve on ANY EQ plugin if it was made the default EQ, but i think i'm asking for too much on this one... Not really a massive issue, but it would really make using a good third party EQ like Sonalksis a little nicer.

Just wondering if anybody knows anything about this. I consider it to be a major problem since the presence of pops and clicks in a bounce makes it completely unusable. I've looked this problem up elsewhere and people have suggested deleting the fade files, or playing an empty bar several times to clear the buffer but neither of these work for me. It also seems pretty unreasonable that i should have to do this just to bounce a file properly. The pops and clicks happen at exactly the same point in the song every time i try to bounce. They are not in the audio files because when i play them separately or from a different start point in logic they are not there. This is incredibly frustrating and i might have to take my raw files and bounce them on my friend's protools rig if i can't get rid of it. oh and i have the latest logic 8, leopard and a 2.2 ghz macbook with 4 GB ram, so it's not that.

I finally figured out what it was! It took a while to figure it out though... It was caused by certain automation parameters, mostly it was caused by automation of high latency insert effects to bypass at certain points. The click didn't happen right at the point where it was bypassed or un-bypassed, but as much as 2-4 seconds after the point, which is why i didn't initially think that it was automation causing the problem. So i can't automate the bypass of certain effects. I can understand why it's happening now though.

I just bought a new Korg PadKontrol, which is great, only one problem. How do i route it so that the padkontroller is dedicated to controlling an ultrabeat track, while my novation controls another track. Sounds fairly complicated but i'm sure it must be possible to do by routing it through the environment somehow. I haven't had any luck trying to figure it out myself though. Any advice? It would really make it perfect for live use, imagine playing ultrabeat and massive at the same time, one hand each...

I actually don't like using Mainstage. I realise it's supposed to be a much better application for live use, but i have a problem with it. It always causes my macbook's cooling fan to turn on at max speed, making it rather more noisy than i would prefer. This happens even if i don't actually do anything in the program. Just having it running seems to make the fan turn on at full blast after about 30 seconds. As far as doing it in Logic, changing the midi channel seems to be related to the midi output, and doesn't actually do anything since i'm not running multiple midi outs. Out of curiosity, does anyone else have the cooling fan issue with Mainstage?

Having a problem with Ultrabeat that i can't for the life of me figure out. If i'm using Ultrabeat in a project, it resets the settings of each voice everytime i close and reopen a project. If i'm using a preset kit, eg trip hop remix kit, after closing the project and reopening it, all voices now sound like standard drum sounds, like the studio tight kit sounds. The preset display still says trip hop remix kit and each voice has the same name on the left, but the oscillator displays all have different settings. I have to go back into the preset menu and reload the kit. Then it works again The other related issue is that if i save a new preset (say if i tweak one of the preset kits), then just reload the preset i just saved, all of the voices revert back to unprocessed samples (ie the studio tight kit sounds). Essentially i can't save my own presets and have to go reload the preset kit i was using and reapply all of the tweaks i made to each voice, every time i reopen a project. I've tried checking the copy ultrabeat samples to project folder. That didn't do anything.

Everything is updated to the latest. I've been looking around on a few other forums and have found others who are experiencing the same problems. It just seems to affect some people and not others, and nobody knows any solution. Strange but unless it is fixed i might have to consider getting Battery or something, because it's taking too much time needing to change all the settings back to how they were every time i open. btw i managed to get the padkontroller hooked up, it was pretty simple, just patched it directly into ultrabeat from the physical input in the environment. And yep i checked that it wasn't actually causing the problem i'm getting above.
