Yes, I also thought the tutorial was fantastic. I made exact copies of his channel strip settings for guitar, rhodes, strings, bass, etc., none of which use 3rd-party plug-ins. But yes, the mastering plug-ins are very expensive, except Izotope Ozone 3. David seemed to really like that one and I got it from MusiciansFriend for only $200. I just haven't figured out how to make it appear in Logic yet... Bob :o)

Hey guys! I just bought the Ozone 3 because it was featured prominently in the Mixing R&B video. But I can't get Logic to recognize it. Apparently it is a 'VST' plug-in and Logic manual says it only supports AU plug-ins. M-Audio and Izotope support are useless. How did you guys get yours to work? Thanks. Bob :o)

It's not in the Audio Unit manager list. There are no options on the install CD or the download from Izotope. It installs to: HD>Library>Audio>Plug-Ins> and then there are items in 3 different folders - Components>Ozone3.component, MAS>Ozone3.bundle, and VST>Ozone3.vst. This is my first 3rd-party plug-in. Fixed it! Thanks guys. I removed all traces of the old Ozone, then Disk Utility fixed two permissions, and then I re-installed the current version. And then there it was in Logic. You guys ROCK! Bob :o)

After several months of using Ozone I'm happy to say that this plug-in rocks! It's still the only 3rd party plug-in I've bought, and it was worth every cent. What a time saver! B.O.B.

No key needed. In fact, I got mine from MusiciansFriend. They sent me a box with an out-of-date CD and a serial number. I ended up having to remove the non-functioning program, then downloading the current 'trial version' from Izotope's web site. Therefore: download the trial version. It's the full program and it works for 30 days. If you want to keep using it you just need to buy a serial number for it. Start using it today! PanMan

Here's the fastest way to get started: Drag the midi file from the finder window and drop onto GarageBand's arrange area. GarageBand will assign all the instruments to tracks and read the tempo (something that Logic doesn't do). Then save and close the file. Open the GarageBand file in Logic and everything will work fine. I still do this sometimes to check tempos. Let the learning begin! B.O.B.
