Hello, I watched the above mentioned video and am a bit confused as I don't quite understand the need of creating an additional MIDI track which eventually plays the EVD6 from a different channel strip. Also what is the purpose of the MIDI Thru tool here? If you assign the MIDI track to the port of the panner object and plug the panner to the EVD6's channel strip, won't it work the same? Best.

Hello, I've been wanting to put my hands on Cubase for a long time and I finally took a bit of time to watch the Cubase 101 tutorial today. My major DAW is Logic although I started to work a lot on ProTools recently too. I wanted to learn about Cubase to know the main difference between these DAWs. One thing I watched in the early sections of this tutorial is about the Bit Depth of the project. The guy recommends to work in 32-bit floating point and says he will explain later on the benefit of 32-bit floating point over 24-bit. However I could not find any other section where he covers the topic. So I'd appreciate if someone can tell me what are the real benefits between 32-bit floating point and 24-bit, and what's the deal when you want to import tracks that have been recorded in 24-bit. I was watching the Beat Detective tutorial and saw that on all the videos the audio is slightly out of sync from the video. I thought I would report that. Great tutorial otherwise ;)

Hi Rounik, From video #20 you can clearly see it... very obvious in video #24 also... as well as in many other further videos.

It's really not much of a big deal, I thought I'd report the matter for future videos as it's always better to have perfect sync when addressing groove timing and quantization topics for instance. Thanks.

I would assume any M-Audio MIDI controller comes with a software editor which allows you to create/edit the settings of the different MIDI controllers (such as pads, switches, knobs). Most MIDI controllers also offer the possibility to edit these settings without using a dedicated editing software. Doesn't your keyboard allow such editing capabilities?
