Hey guys i've been reading the all thread and i'm just wondering if i can seek help in this one or start a new thread. I bought 2 months ago an apogee duet with the purpose of transferring my vinyls (analog) into digital with logic pro as software to convert them as mp3 with itunes and then finally use them with serato. I bought some xlr male cables to rca to connect it to my mixer which is an ttm 56 rane and also already preamp i suppose. On the maestro control i use for the line 1 and 2 "xlr line -10 dbv. What i noticed was that whenever i was recording my vinyl, my final output was extremely low compared to the original vinyl, almost like 2 levels less on the gain on my mixer. Than i called the apogee support and they told me to use the adaptive limiter as you guys just mentioned in logic. I read Rounik suggesting to have the out ceiling i think at -0.1, i don't know which one is correct but they guy told me to have it as -0.3 and to have the input scale at 0. I just hope someone can relate to my situation because it drives me crazy that i have to read the entire manual of logic to find out what is the problem lol. ps Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Rounik, Thanks for the quick prompt reply first of all. when i set the maestro control with line 1 and 2 at xlr-10 dbv, the knob don't work so the only way to increase the input signal is to turn up the volume of the channel mixer or the gain. I always thought that my mixer was preamp, and i also called rane and they confirmed. I did also tried to connect the duet to the amplifier or receiver that i use and still the signal was that same, so now i'm confused. I am afraid now to spend xtra money on a phono preamp to get the same result. Does anyone using the duet with a Rane Mixer ttm 56?

u know what it is? maybe because i never used that option of 24 bit that i can use gain on the duet? I'm gonna give a try. When i called the apogee support it seems they have no clue on how to solve my issue. It's funny u mentioned the 24 bit etc. now that i realized it i also see it on the box ahahahahaha.

It's kinda difficult to explain but i try my best. I have a project with several tracks. The track 3 was blended nicely with the track 2. Because track 3 had the beginner little distorted i decided to record the same song of track 3 on track 4 just to have the beginning of the song and then later on aligning it. Apparently i never aligned the beginning, so i kept recording/and blending the rest of the project from track 4. Now, if i try to syncronize the part i needed from track 4 to track 3, the rest of the project is offbeats. Is there a way that i can preserve the mixes of the projects by moving all of them to the left with one single click? Does anyone know if the solution i can find in the video tutorials of logic?

Yes Rounik, by blend I mean mix. Thanks for the tip. Can you please tell me how to nudge the tracks? It's a mix tape that I created by laying all the songs to each track. When I recorded the same song on track 4 was for the purpose to grab the beginning of it and replace with the one of track 3, I totally forgot to do it. So instead of contuining to record and mix from track 3, I did it from track 4. Hope this help.

Thanks Rounik, I'll definetely try your method soon as I get back home. Btw, is there a way that I can nudge multiple tracks? For example, if I try you suggestion, do I have to select from track 1 to track 3 and than drag them? Or is there another alternative? I'm not sure if this is the right definition, but when you move multiple tracks at the same time, isn't it called "to lock"?

Hi Rounik, I tried to follow the pattern you suggested me, but at one point I was lost lol. However, I figured another way to do it. I selected the previous regions on the first 3 tracks (waveform), and I hit I think shift + ctrl or shift + alt and dragged them until the regions 3 and 4 mixed smoothly. Anyway, I want to thank you for the tip u gave me about the nudge thing, I'm sure if I keep watching the videos, I'll be able to follow it better what you gave me. Sometimes having someone next to it or a video might be easier to follow. Thanks.

can anybody tell me if i can use the logic sounds with machine or mpc? I feel more comfortable using the pads of a drum machine instead of a keyboards. I know that machine has its own software, but i prefer using logic better. Also, what would it be the suggestion between the akai mpc 1000 vs machine by native instruments.

Hello Rounik, Yeah you right about that. That Maschine look tempting, so light and cheaper than mpc. I think the only downfall is that it cannot be used without a computer plugged in. I'm thinking of getting it as my first drum machine. If it works in logic like you said, then it would be even better. One person one time said " well that "mpc" is 1990's, while the maschine is 2011" lol. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks Rounik.

Hi, Can someone pls tell me how can I get a bpm on a song in logic? I usually use my dj software (serato), when I'm building overview of my tracks to get bpm. But I have few tracks that I do believe the software assingn wrong bpm. Anyone?
