Hi there, I have all diverse information and support for all aspects of production except 1. I have been struggling with this element of production work and there seems to be less info about this. The element I would like more help with is composition or MIDI/data entry. I know the basics and advanced concepts of both the UB (Ultrabeat) and the EXS24, I like the UB however, it seems that it will not save samples I add in a custom kit UNLESS I save them to my project folder. This is unfortunate bc/ it takes up too much space on my hard drive. The EXS24 however, REMEMBERS the location of any samples I add to it and I DO NOT have to save samples to my project folder. So I guess my first question is 1. has anyone else experienced this? and 2. Are there any short cuts or Tips and Tricks for entering data/composition? or for the EXS24 in particular? thank you, Micaiah

So I am new to this forum and I haven't reviewd all of the already posted tutorials on the EXS24, so forgive me if this has already been covered, but I would like to learn more on the - SAMPLE INSTRUMENT EDITOR of the EXS24. In particular: .5 loading samples by dragging vs. other methods. 1. organization by zones vs. groups 2. programing samples and organizing 3. building and saving kits (I have a tendancy to put all of the same insturment in one kit (such as all hats in one kit) as opposed to building a traditional kit (such as kick, snare, hi hat, etc.). Which is more efficient?, etc. 4. workflow with the EXS24 (anything to improve efficiency when programing or editing, etc.) 5. MIDI programing in the piano roll with the EXS24. Tricks to program/compose more efficiently in the piano roll for someone who does not play a traditional instrument or has a keyboard. (such as repeating patterns, etc.) Anything to make using the EXS more like programing with the Ultrabeat. or anything else you would like to cover :-) Thank you, Micaiah
