I composed a movie soundtrack, in sync with the imported film in Logic Pro. I have many tracks with regions and automation. Now I want to change the tempo of the project, but keep the regions in sync with the images. I turned on SMTP-lock on all regions, and when changing the tempo of the project, the regions stays right in sync. However, the automation did not move with the regions (my automation settings are set to "move always"). Any way to solve this in a handy way? Or is there any better way to change tempo for movie soundtracks without messing everything up? This could be an idea for a video tutorial.

You're right Steve, moving the automation to the regions is the solution! If fact I didn't know that audio regions could have hyper draw. I thought this was only available for MIDI regions. Is hyper draw for audio regions a new feature of Logic Pro 8?

Dear Steve, I repeat here a post from another user ("DR") that I think is really worth covering in Logic TNT : ---------------------------------- I think it would be great to see some tutorials on using folders and other tools in logic to manage a complex midi arrangement with lots of takes and alternate midi parts. Whatever tips and tricks can be used to make an arrangement more manageable and best practices for bouncing midi to audio and archiving the original midi tracks in case you want to change the parts in the future. Just overall getting around quickly in a complex midi arrangement and preparing it for the Final Mix or getting a track ready for a mixer/engineer to work with. ---------------------------------- Tutorials are great when they share long-time user experience, and not only explain what's in the manual. So please, Steve, take this suggestion in consideration. I believe you have a lot of experience in managing large projects in Logic, and we would be delighted to see some tips about that. Frédéric

Hi Steve, This could be message from Bree Hodge (ex. Van de Kamp) from Desperate Housewives. In your video's, when you name an object in Logic, you always keep that Shift key pressed for too long when putting the first letter of a word in capital, which results in things like: "COntrol" -> instead of "Control" "MOdulation" -> instead of "Modulation" OK, this is not essential, but it irritates me a little bit every time you do that mistake! Or is it Ygor's fault?! :-)

Concerning Beat Mapping (Logic 201 Tutorial), am I right if I say that: - beat mapping [b]DOES[/b] alter the position of the notes in a midi region (the original "natural feeling" is kept by the tempo changes) - removing the beat mapping (by clicking and deleting the yellow tabs in the beat mapping global track) and removing the tempo changes [b]DOES NOT[/b] restore the orignal "natural feeling" from the midi region, because the notes have been moved! - if you want to preserve a copy of the original "natural feeling" of the midi region, you have to make a copy of the region and place it further on the time line - all midi regions located on the same time position will be altered by the beat mapping edits (notes will be moved not only on the region used for beat mapping, but also on all regions located on the same time position) Thanks for helping me understanding how beat mapping works!
