I've been trying to use some of the synth samples that come with Logic, but I get this message with several of them: Plug-In "Hybrid MOR" not available. Any idea what this means? Shouldn't they all be available, as this is a very new program? A few months back, when I encountered a similar message, and I still had the free support, the tech guy suggested a conflict with Garageband, but I got sidetracked and never really addressed the problem. Does this sound familiar?

Hi there. Does anyone know if Logic can take a group of files and change them all at once? Examples: ...if I have files created at the wrong bit rate, and need them all one common rate; ...if I have file names that need to be changed to all lower case; ...files without an effect need to be modified - like adding a reverb. Any thoughts?

Thanks for those hints. I'm just reading a couple of books on music for games, and this came up in a couple of chapters, and I couldn't find anything in the Logic manual that seemed to address the issues. On to some small games projects!

I think that's the old saying, in this case meaning that I'm trying to salvage something that may be beyond repair. I recorded some classical guitar a while back, and was using the two built-in pick-ups on my acoustic-electric, which gives an okay sound quality, but not great. This method tends to pick up a lot of bassy rumble if I'm doing rapid tremolo finger-picking. Think there's anything in Logic that could help reduce the rumble on this existing recording? I suspect using proper mics and good placement is the best way, but I don't have the gear, and my studio is my living room, which picks up lots of street sound whenever I use mics. Any ideas for a filter or EQ setting in Logic to help with the old recording?

I have a habit of finding the basics in any program I use, and only rarely venturing beyond my comfort zone. Silly habit; maybe it's time to beat an old dog... I'm just full of the sayings today! Is there a ST specific tutorial?

I just checked out a couple of the sample videos, and ST and Logic seem almost interchangeable. Both have the ability to sync to video, both are good at minute editing... I'm not totally sure when I might use ST instead of Logic.

The EQ/analysis trick really helped the sound. I didn't remove the bassy flutter altogether, but got rid of most of it, and the file sounds much better. Thanks for that.

A video editor I know asked for a couple of my music pieces so he could present them to a client for a commercial. If they decide to use them, I need to give him "stems". My definition of stems is this: individual mixed tracks, with some form of tone at the beginning which allows them to be synced together, but still allows the editor to drop sections out individually. In this particular case, he would want all higher register and lower register instruments grouped together, and the mid-range as another separate track, as spoken word takes up the same mid-range areas and he'll be dropping those sections out somewhat. Please feel free to correct or add to my definition, as this was all gleaned from one brief conversation yesterday. My question: is there an automatic way of creating these tracks and a sync tone in Logic or Soundtrack? Also, what range of kHz should I be most concerned with, if spoken voices are the issue?

Thanks for this. I checked with my video editor friend, and he actually wants to be able to cut out specific instruments, but I think I have that figured out. I'm not sure where to find the Test Osc though.
