Martin, I was just watching your Logic 101 video and you say to record audio at as hot a signal as you can around -6 dbfs. I was kind of taken back by this because I remembered reading this thread http://studio-central.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=130&t=34078 at Tweakheadz.com (Its a sticky BTW). In this thread they are adamant that audio should be recorded at -18 dbfs which = 0 dbvu for the best signal to noise ratio and headroom left for mastering. I'm a bit confused. Thanks Oscar

I've watched the excellent vid by Steve H on mastering in logic. Very well done. I'm also using Ozone 4 and like it. My question is this: I've loaded an AIFF file from James Taylor's Covers (figured it wouldn't be mastered to loud and I like the Mix) into Logic, just to see where the meters end up. Can't help but notice that while the track is Avg about -3.7 to lets say -.5 it does show the meters in logic in the red at +1.0 on the peaks. What does that mean? Is ther still head room in logic past 0 dbfs. Thanks FL

I'm looking at the output meters. But now I know what you talking about with the pan law. I've never checked to see what the pan law was set at. What should I set the pan law for in my own mixes? Thanks Oscar

I just upgraded to Logic studio 9 and would like to start using Mainstage 2 in my live gigs. Question is would it be worth the time to go through the tutorial for Mainstage 1 while waiting for the tutorial for Mainstage 2 or am I wasting time? Thanks Frank

Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. Maybe the tut will include some do's and don'ts about a footswitch like the one coming out from apogee. Anyway thanks Frank
