It is possible to have more than 1 track record-enabled at the same time by assigning them different MIDI channels, but if you don't need to record the FX, then you could also patch it in the Environment. You'd cable the device with the pads directly to the Instrument track with the EXS FX (Physical Input Object Pad Device out to EXS FX Channel Strip), and this would then be live regardless of the track selected.

Hi dmatson - There's an example of how to assign CC data to control Filter and Volume in EXS -- for greater expressiveness with a wind instrument patch -- in this video: https://www.macprovideo.com/video/the-exs24-sampling-explored/21-21-velocity-ccs-applications?afid=E470KLQ7r9 In the example (a few minutes in) it's done with CC1 (modwheel), but you could substitute CC2 (Breath) or CC11 (Expression) -- whatever the EWI puts out -- and it would have the same effect, controlled from the EWI. You might want to try opening the MIDI panel of the Apple AudioMIDI Setup utility (Applications>Utilities) and re-establishing the MIDI connections shown there

Hard to say without more information.. What do you mean by "sound strange"? Are these VI synths or external hardware synths? Are the synth patches in use monophonic or polyphonic? It may just be that at the faster Tempo the release of the notes occurs before some aspect of the sound kicks in during a longer decay that you are hearing at the slower Tempo..?

I assume MIDI is triggering the Korg, sound is arriving at the interface, input level has been turned up, and you have the audio track record-armed in the DAW; if you still hear nothing it could be related to the Input Monitoring function for the audio channel. Most DAWs have options for Input Monitoring (i.e. Auto-Input Monitoring) that would likely affect this (there may be a switch/setting to enable live audio throughput prior to recording) -- that's the first thing I'd check out..
