I like the new interface. It feels closer to other DAWs and has similar color values to the Adobe CS6/CC products that I use everyday. Real faders and workflow enhancements abound. So far, so good. I'm still really digging in and exploring but the new MIDI FX brings it closer to some things I'm used to in Live 9, even though I do use them in tandem. I had no problems with spending another $200 for this version because, well, that price is dwarfed by what I pay for upgrades to all of my other software. It's not the biggest update possible but what was improved, while not life changing, are welcomed and indeed improvements. There are a few things that do bother me, like how small the faders are, how fiddly the mixer can be and some of the older instruments looking garish when compared to the new interface. I also do not like that when naming channels Logic doesn't continue playback but instead starts over. However, my opinion so far is mostly positive.

It works. What I had to do was go into the Logic preferences > Audio > Devices and change "ReWire Behavior" to one of the appropriate modes. While I don't use Reason 7, after a restart everything works fine with Live 9.

I have no qualms about Apple discontinuing the bit-bridge, personally but I do need to still use a few 32-bit plug-ins in the interim. For example, a few Soundtoys and Abbey Road plug-ins. I could just use Logic Pro 9 but would like to see if anyone has potentially investigated any creative solutions yet. It's easy enough to get 32-bit virtual instruments piped into Logic Pro X via various simple maneuvers but processors and effects are a different story. Without splashing money down on VEPro 5 for a temporary solution, has anyone tried MainStage 2 or Rax 3 as a virtual "effects rack" of sorts? I'm worried about processing latency. I'm going to try a few things myself but wondered if someone else may be ahead already and have found a solution.

I can't answer those questions. I do still have Logic 9 available, if or when 32-bit compatibility is dire. I was just curious as to potential solutions others may have found, if any, in the interim while we wait on a few developers. Personally, I think that developers should go with the impetus and find incentive to update their plug-ins, be it Abbey Road or otherwise. Pro Tools 11, Cubase 7, Live 9, Logic Pro X, et al are all now 64-bit and do not provide bit-bridges. While some offer 32-bit apps or switchable operation, none include bit-bridges. So, to me, this doesn't seem like some kind of divisive maneuver by Apple but the obvious direction. I actually often found Logic Pro 9's bit-bridge a bit convoluted and the cause of various stability issues. However, YMMV.

No problems with the playhead here either.

This would be great! I would presume it would be very complex to go into the deepest reaches of DSP and mathematics of Reaktor, but anything is welcomed, especially since this training material is so scarce right now. I'm looking forward to a Reaktor tutorial.

Like Rounik said, I aim for around -12dBFS when recording, leaving room for peaks. That or I aim for a reasonable level that's audibly in the sweet spot of my converters, where it's clean and far from distortion but still gives me about 12 to 16 dB of headroom.

I'm disappointed that all of the great features are still Pro Tools HD only. While I do use HD on a normal basis in studios it seems incompetent for Avid to continue to stifle the software instead of unifying it. In the none HD version, there is still no elegant solution for disabling input monitoring, most of my plug-ins aren't yet compatible, limited metering choices, very humble bouncing options and so forth. I don't want to rant because there's a lot that I do like about the software. However, essentially, I'm still having to use some combination of Pro Tools 10 and other software, to get full effect. Outside of Pro Tools now being 64-bit, I was more impressed by the Live 9 and Logic X updates, to be honest. I will revisit my opinion once everyone is ready with 64-bit AAX and I've had more time to spend with the 11 software in true form. From what I'm able to see though, it's far more optimized though. It's snappy and more responsive on my system.
