Hi DR,
If you check out tutorial 20. DAW integration in the Exploring Animoog course, the basics are pretty much the same. Earlier Animoog could only receive MIDI to trigger its sounds but now animoog also sends MIDI to trigger other devices. So lets say you want to trigger a sound in Logic Pro DAW, all you have to do is record enable the track and if all the setup is correctly done(Audio MIDI setup) , it should work just fine. You can even use this feature to trigger a hardware synth, assuming you have some kind of a MIDI interface for your iPad.
Animoog now also has the ability to send/receive on different MIDI Channels(1-16), but if you are just using it with Logic Pro, you can set it to channel 1 or even omni which sends on all channels.
You can even assign the knobs and X/Y controls to parameters in your DAW or hardware synth. There's a MIDI learn button that will assist in that.
Hope that helps. Let me know if there are any issues you face.
