I am going to answer this as a 2.5 user, No! Reason being, it's not multi timbral and that sucks, but you can assign the fader first to the malstrom record the controller movement. Duplicate the sequencer track assign the Subtractor to the duplicated track make sure you assign what ever knob or wheel to the same cc# in the arrange window show/hide controllers. for example modulation wheel is cc#1 or 2 depending on the maker now both wheels respond to the contoller movement or data.

No disrepect Huddie, but Reason at least ver2.5 and older is not Multi-timbral it's clearly confirmed in their own user manuals. The process you're refering to is layering (duplicating). Multi is when several instrument's or sounds respond simultaneously to one Midi channel (1-16). Tip: create two devices (Redrum & Subtractor) go to the Midi interface just below the audio interface in Reason and load the second instrument in the first slot (ch 1), press a key to make sure it's receiving a midi signal now you should hear both devices. But you can't record both, because the sequencer overides the Midi interface. FYI by default the sequencer is set to receive ch.1 but can be changed in the preference page under the file (XP) or edit (Mac) menu. only option for getting Reason to be Multi-Timbral is to "Rewire" with Protools etc... then assign Protools midi channels to Reason's Midi interface and load all 16 slots with devices of your choice notice Reason's midi interface has four options A-D which makes it capable of 64 midi tracks. I hope this has helped anyone using Reason. My suggestion...Rewire it to Protools or Logic whatever your choice.

Here's a trick some of us tweakers do. In an NNXT browse for a sample from the remote editor. Activate the Mod X to F.Freq button. adjust the knob to about 11:00. Now adjust the filter parameter (in the remote editor, not the global freq knob up top)about 1:00 you can tweak the res if you like. when you raise the modulation wheel the frequencies preferrably the highs, will be reduced (attenuated) given you the impression of a on/off switch. Now when you trigger your sample raise the mod wheel it will appear you are cutting it on and off. P.S. It may take experimenting for a lil bit but you'll get it.

I had the same exact problem and spoke with Motu who informed me that DP 4.6 did not work with MAC OS 10.4.8 which either caused crashes or rewire instabilty and other things to happen so I ended up getting DP 5.13 and it required MAC 10.4.11 update which ran perfect thereafter. I don't know what version you have but it would'nt hurt to check. P.S. I use Reason 2.5, DP5.13, Protools 7.1, Sampltank 2L, Recycle

Hey dude it's called bouncing or audio rendering. In case you need an alternative, by selecting a good piano patch in the NNXT open the remote editor select a group in the keyzone and adjust the velocity for just that group to a lower setting. the other option is adjust the velocity to level knob for the same group.

If you have recycle you could import drum samples etc.. tweak in recycle and then load'em in NNXT, NN19, Dr.Rex, or Redrum as Slices. Another option is to mark a loop section in your song then go to file/export loop as audio to a folder of your choice then load back into the Redrum,NNXT or NN19 as a sample, in the sample browser.

Assuming you have a legitimate copy of Recycle there's a demo that should have automatically installed.if not, pop the disc in and the demo folder should show in your browser. the tutorial uses drums but what your trying to achieve can be done the same way, you'll have to invest a lil more time to make sure all the slice points are where you want them.
