I am trying to make a mix using the binaural output plug-ing. The problem is when I use some of Apple's SFX, they change the track to Surround. When I select and hold the Surround button in the channel strip I/O, I can change the output to Output 1-2, but then when I try to select binaural, it just stays at Output 1-2. What do I have to do to use these sounds with the binaural processor?

I want to mix in stereo, using the new binaural output. But dragging in an Apple sfx turns the track to a surround output. Normally when you click and hold the Output 1-2 button in the channel strip, you can choose 'Binaural' and the knob next to the level fader turns into a binaural button that can be invoked by double tapping it. With the track set to surround and then changed to Output 1-2, choosing 'Binaural' does not bring up the binaural button on the knob next to the level fader. Have you ever used the binaural function?

This is great, Christian. I wonder why you can't just change the track in Logic. I really appreciate your help!

Is there a way to record the binaural settings live, rather than setting the bin. angle and bin. distance in the Arrange window? In fact, I'd like to be able to do live recordings of several plug-in effects using the window that pops up when you double click on the effect in the channel strip, while the sequence is playing. If this was covered in a tutorial, I don't remember it. But it sure would be helpful.

Thanks so much for responding so soon! Unless I am misunderstanding your reply, it isn't what I want to do. I want to be changing the binaural settings as the track plays, and record those changes. It seems as if the binaural was on a bus that the sounds I want to have affected by the binaural plug-in are assigned to, that could somehow be accomplished, but I don't have a clue how. I guess the question is can you make changes in any plug-in using it's window, and actually record those changes in real time?

If I understand your question, what I do is select an audio track. In the channel strip settings click and hold Output 1-2 and then mouse over Bus to see all the Busses that are configured in your setup and choose one. Then assign your other tracks to that Bus.

Greetings, I used to be able to use the AU DLSMusic Device to play instruments from a midi set that is used in the product I compose music for. It was a way to be able to compose and hear the actual instrument set that I was writing for. Suddenly in Logic 8 it seems that the DLSMusic Device is no longer present. I can't use it to set up new Logic projects, and the old ones with saved DLS load, but a notice appears that DLSMusic device isn't present. Is there any way I can still use this? I really need it! Thanks for any help.

Christian, That worked! I'm so relieved. I've been aborting the plug-in scan because my Waves plug-ins don't seem to be compatable with Logic 8, and the DLS device never got scanned and set. I love this forum and the Logic Tutorials!!!

Hi, I recently bought some 3rd party Apple Loops to use in Logic. I got them into the Loop Library, but it turned out that the creator made an error when he made these loops. The names were too long and they did not automatically adjust to various tempos. He fixed the problem, I moved the loops to the trash and installed the newly named replacement loops. Unfortunately, the old loops are still in the loop browser even though I can't find any of the original loops on my computer. How can I get these 500+ loops out of the loop browser?
