I have been using Logic for 2 years and I have learned that the subtle adjustments are more powerful than the extreme. The Mixing R&B Tutorial really opened my eyes. I had been overdoing some of my effects (That's an understatement). He uses reverb in a totally different way. I have been using it almost as a special effect. He uses it for surgical sound placement. I will have to watch the tutorial again to really learn it. I am really curious as to what the CPU power was on the Mixing R&B. I have a G5 dual 2.3. I wonder if I can use the same number of Space Designers? I'm going to watch R&B again & again. Honestly..I was really amazed. Good Luck, S. College

I converted an audio file to a wave file that I needed to reverse. I dragged it from the audio bin to the arrange page. I then option dragged to make a copy. I then highlighted and double clicked the copied file (region). This opened the audio window. I performed the reverse function and both the highlighted region and the original region were reversed. I highlighted just one of the regions again and tried to re-reverse it but it re- reversed both. I even made another copy and highlighted and reversed it but all THREE audio files were reversed. Am I missing an important step? Rob

I have used the popular "Big Booms" and "Rumble" sounds in songs for certain transitions or break points etc. My problem is that I can't seem to make them stand out in the mix as well as I would like. I want them to be heard without being too loud, and yet feel them too. Does anyone have any suggestions or rules of thumb concerning these sound effects. (Bangs, Booms and Rumbles)

Thanks, the EQ tips helped my rumble part cut through a little better. I also used a little more compression and got a little more loud perception. This was ok because I cut the muddy sounds out. I have one question. I cant see anything on the channel eq analyzer up above 2khz. Will a boost still help? Also I was wonder if you could suggest some other "Hit, Bang and Boom" sounds. A good example is the Hybrid sound. Their song "Dogstar" captures exactly what I'm trying to achieve.

I just purchased a jvc hard drive camcorder and am having trouble getting the video out of the camera and into logic. I have a G5 dual 2.3 and am running logic 8 on OS 10.4. Can it be done?

I Finally upgraded to leopard and I'm having problems. I have lost AU validation on Analog factory Experience, IK multimedia Sonic synth, Sample Tank, Philharmonic, Spectrasonics Atmosphere and Steinberg Virtual Guitarist 2. I hope I don't have to lose any of these plug-ins. I use them all the time. Also, I have to force quitLogic because it won't close unless I close all rewire apps.But I have none. HELP Rob

Thanks for the help. I got all the plugs working but Atmosphere. I have been going back and forth with Spectrasonics and finally they say that it's not supported in 10.5 with Logic 8. I hate losing Atmosphere. I can get it working but the performance is limited / thin sounding (something to do with its internal bussing) and it will crash Logic easily with too many voices. Spectrasonics told me I should upgrade to Omnisphere. Rob

I am running a G5 dual 2.3. I don't know about a wrapper. I see a link for Intel wrappers. I'm not real familiar with how wrappers work. Rob

I'm trying to decide on a new Mac Pro. I have been watching an 8 core 3.2 on Apple's refurbished list. I like the idea of having really high speed on each individual core to handle big software synths. (Like NI Massive). The brand new Mac Pro with similar power per core would be 5 grand. The refurbished Mac is $3200. Would I be better of getting a brand new Mac Pro with less power per core? (to save money) Or is the 8 x 3.2 refurbished Mac the way to go? I'm not sure if a Nehalem chip with less power would compete with the previous generation Harpertown with much more power per core. Does anybody have first hand knowlege? Rob
