Every time I bounce a recording, the finished result hisses when I play it back in iTunes or on any other device. Thus, the quality is highly diminished. Does anyone know the reason for this? I hope the problem doesn't stem from the beginning and I'll have to go back and rerecord everything. Thanks for your help.

Yes it does. And I've bounced it as both AIFF and MP3. Still, there's a hissing in all files. Am i doing something wrong?

I have Mac OS X 10.5.8 I have Logic 9.1.4 I've tried various bounce settings, but currently the default is: PCM AIFF 8 bit 44100 Interleaved No 3rd party plug-ins. Just my M-Audio MIDI keyboard and Apogee Duet. Also, as of yesterday, when I open Logic it says that Autotune has expired and is no longer recognized. Did I mistakenly delete a file or what? Seems more problems keep reoccurring. Thank you so much for your help. -Matt

Okay. So it seemed to work okay in MP4. And I also raised it to 24bit, which I swore I already tried. But currently that seems to be working with PCM and AIFF. What settings do you recommend to bounce at? What are the industry's standard? Also, I think the Autotune problem may have occurred due to me trying to clean up space on my computer. Could I have deleted some necessary files? Perhaps the "Receipts"? Sorry to hit you with another question. Appreciate the help. -Matt

Hello, So I'm trying to record a spacey introduction to my song, so I pulled out the output on the guitar just to hear it lightly let the reverb ring. However, this creates phase issues and my timing is now off with the percussion in the background. How can I produce this effect correctly and either correct the phasing with the pulled output or use an alternate effect to achieve the same result? Thanks a lot!

Currently, I have the original Apogee Duet and use Logic on a Macbook Pro. However, I'd like to upgrade to a Macbook Pro for better performance, etc, but am not sure which computer to get. What is the best version for the best price of the Macbook Pro to work with Logic? Also, will I still be able to use my Apogee Duet with that or will I have to upgrade to the Duet 2 because it has the USB cable? If I can still use the regular Duet, do I have to convert it to another cable in order to plug it in? Lastly, is the new Duet even worth purchasing? One more (sorry): If I'm recording acoustic guitar with two Rode mics in Logic, do I set it up as 2 mono tracks panned left and right for each mic or should I record both mics into one stereo track? Should I record 2 separate mono tracks at the same time or record one stereo track together? Thanks for your help.

So I have an Apogee Duet. And I'm researching the best equipment to use with it without spending 7 billion dollars. I was wondering what were people's different signal chains? Right now I just plug directly into the Duet. But I was thinking of getting a compressor (perhaps an FMR RNC1773) and a preamp (perhaps a Great River ME-1NV). Would that be a good combo? Worth the money? Huge difference? Is it even necessary? And how would I even set that up? Do people have any other recommendations with the Apogee Duet? Also, would it be worth upgrading to Duet 2 if I had a new compressor and preamp already? (I know the Duet sounds well by itself. But I want to maximize my sound as much as I can with just spending $2,000. My mics are AKG C-212 and a pair of Rode NT5's.) Thanks. lots of questions. my apologies.
