I upgraded to Lion on my MBP and it crashes regularly…. can't stand the way Finder operates, and I will not upgrade my Mac Pro until I absolutely have to.

Rounik, thanks, this helped. So far, I can't see any real difference in performance on my 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 MBP (8GB 1067 MHz DDR3) running Leopard and running Lion, except that Lion does not support everything I run. Mac's are definitely superior to PC's for audio, but Apple's predilection for making the public shake-out their software bugs is what Microsoft was notorious for doing that tarnished Microsoft's reputation. Thanks, GG

Deleting Loops from the Loop Library
Jul 30th, 2011, 03:23
How does one clear-out unwanted third party loops from the Apple Loop Library? The manual only tells how to add third-party loops, but does not mention clearing out loops you don't want. I can't locate them on the hard drive.

Rounik, there is no 'Library' subdirectory under my home folder. There is a 'Library' sub under HD, and I can follow this to Audio/Apple Loops/Apple, but the third party loops are not located in any of the subs in there, i.e. Garageband, Sountrack, iLife and the Jam Packs...

Macros for Changing Gain in Sample Editor
Dec 30th, 2011, 07:53
I'm trying to create a set of Macros that allow me to easily and quickly increase or decrease the gain on an audio section in the Sample Editor, such as -3dB, +3dB, -2dB, +2dB, etc. Looking for advise on which tutorial covers this, or if there isn't one, how to do it.

Rounik, Thanks. I have STP but prefer to stay within Logic for simplicity. The process you describe for doing this in Sample Editor is not exactly elegant, but I guess that's as far as the Logic programmers have taken this, and that's all we have. Oh well... I have the Euphonix Artist series Control and Mix surface controllers and Avid said they have a Macro I can implement to do this. They sent me instructions for how to create the Macro, which didn't work (maybe pilot error!), but hopefully I can eventually get it working correctly. Thanks! GG

Analog Tape Rewind Emulation
Jan 2nd, 2012, 07:58
I'm looking for a way to create an emulation of an analog tape rewind; any idea how to do this? The idea would be to have the audio stop and then sound just like an old tape machine rewinding and then start playing the audio again at the beginning. Any ideas? GG

Original topic post is from Logic Sync Problems
Logic Sync Problems
Jan 25th, 2012, 07:29
I'm running Logic 9.1.6 at 96kHz using an Apogee Rosetta 200 with the latest firmware. Often have problems with Logic losing sync with the Rosetta, requiring that I resync the Core Audio in Preferences. Never happens at 44.1kHz. Anyone have any ideas on what's going on? Thanks, GG
