I've been using Logic since for years, I love the SW, and all its upgrades keep getting better and better.
However a couple of weeks ago a young, inexperienced producer played me an electro track he made, which sounded amazing, The kicks thumped and the bass had a natural organic sub that blew me away... I asked if he was using Logic, he answered '"no i cant afford it .. Im using ableton".
Price issues aside, we all know it halved in price and stole characteristics from other sw.. watch Logic triple in price once apple corner the market & fruity loop users.
Anyhow, I did a comparison test, raw samples and loops, the usual suspects for an electro beat..and it kills me to admit my Ableton bounce sounded a whole lot better than Logic. No processing, the same files in both sws.
Has anyone notice the same? Logic sounded slightly thinner and a shimmer over it, as if there was a slight compressor giving the whole bounce (real time) a little polish And the kick sounded a little thinner and plasticy...Slightly annoying for me personally.
Can anyone offer input about this... thoughts, mainly dance music. Any similar experiences?
