I have Logic Express 8 with a M-Audio Axiom 25 Keyboard. I think the Bundles look awesome for logic and I am going to buy them tomorrow. But is there going to be a point where all the information will be about Logic Pro and not Express?

Well then the only thing that would apply to me is the ultra beat turorial? everything else is either for logic pro, studio or logic seven. I just want to learn how to use logic with my midi keyboard. Assign things to the keyboard, program sick beats (I am a drummer) use the synth, actually record what I am doing. You know, use the program. Looks like ultrabeat is the only thing I can buy, although I am willing to drop $150-$200... oh well.

So I have the Logic 101 tutorial. Does this actually cover recording? Or just digital music concepts? I am having the hardest time here. For some reason when I press record in ultrabeat the I hear the tones I am playing but they won't record, the only way to write anything in ultrabeat is for me to pencil them in. Does the ultrabeat tutorial actually cover recording with ultrabeat and using my midi keyboard (which has drum pads) which tutorial covers applying the midi keyboard one would be using? going so crazy!

I can't even express how much the tutorial has helped. just thought i'd say. One thing to work on, in the anchors section, you never actually clearly explain what they do like "this is where the sample will start" I had to sort of figure that out on my own. either way amazing. now on to the point of my thread::!:~~ So lets say I have a beat the way I want it, and it is at 120 BPM. Then I sample something, like a guitar riff, I won't know what tempo I am at obviously (yet). How do I adjust the tempo of the riff to match that of the beat without changing the pitch to be higher or lower? Like I want it to sound like the guitar player is just playing the same riff but faster. Is that possible even? I am still working out the best ways to adjust tempo when working with samples, I feel the key lies in Anchors... an answer would be appreciated! -the guy that wrote the letters you are reading right now, including the letter L

I am more of a drummer than a keyboard player or guitarist, so I need a bit of help with this. I have sampled two guitar parts. I can tell they are different keys. A) How do I find out each samples key and pitch? B) How do I change one of the samples to match the other without effecting time? thanks!

I have noticed that when I press a key on my external midi keyboard there is maybe a half second lag. That isn't going to work for me. I obviously cannot play along to things and record with this problem. I have a MacBook with 1 and a half gigs of ram, leopard, logic 8.1, 80gb hd. I usually only run Soundflower and Itunes while logic is opening. Is it a lack of resources issue? Anybody have a solution to this? thank you!
