Hi, I've just purchased a brand new Mac Pro and Logic studio have tried to install it. I put the 1st disc in it goes fine prompts me to put the second one in and then it comes up with this message: The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. The first time I did it it told me to insert the Logic install disc which is the first one I put in. I don't know why I would've had to put it in again but I did and it came up with the first message. Please help...? This is quite frustrating. Thanks, Damian

Thanks, I've actually 90% worked it out. I called the place I bought it from and they suggested I turn off all power saving options (screen saver, sleep mode etc), I did this and it worked. It went the whole way through without any error messages. However, Soundtrack pro still will not work. When I try to open it it says "Soundtrack pro cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure Soundtrack Pro works with this version of Mac OSX. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and Mac OSX." I even installed it solely, put the install disc in an unchecked everything except soundtrack pro and it went through the install unaffected and said the install was successful but then it still won' t open. In response to the other thread as well, I may have realised a problem. I don't have final cut pro installed. I was planning on using soundtrack pro for it's audio restoration uses. Is this an issue? By the way, it was a typo. Soundtrack pro is still not working. Thanks, Damian.

Ok. Just found a link on another Logic Forum which says this "If you right click on the Install Logic Studio shortcut and choose "Show Original", it should show you the hidden installer folder. Inside the Packages folder you should find "PSTSharedA.pkg" and "ProAppsMetadataSupport.pkg". Try installing both of these package installers and see if that fixes it. This is what worked for me." I did exactly this and it now works perfectly. No idea what this means or what the files are installing but it worked.. Thanks everyone for your help! Damian

Hi, I have recently purchased a Lynx Aurora 16 and an Aurora 8. I am trying to link these together to create the 24 channels I need to use in Logic 9. I can create an aggregate device simply enough by selecting both the Cards in the Audio/Midi Setup but when the Aggregate device is selected in logic it will only play as though one is connected. When I select them individually (not as aggregate) they work fine, so they're definitely hooked up correctly. Can anyone help? Thanks, Damian

Hey there, I think I worked it out. I've just realised that the 2nd Aurora shows up as channels 33-64 in Logic, (I assume because there's 16 analog and 16 Digital on each card). I think I'm I've just had trouble getting my head around the fact that it is more based on the Cards within the computer with the auroras running through them as opposed to a 16 channel and an 8 channel interface which every other one I've ever had has been. Is this correct? If so, is there any way of making it so it only shows up the analog channels? Thanks , Damian
