is it possible to load Logic studio songs in logic express 8. i ask as my friend has express 8 and i have Logic studio and we wish to work on projects together at my studio and sometimes at his.

hi folks, is there a key command that lets u repeat regions. i have just switched to Logic from Cubase. in Cubase u can just press Apple D and it duplicates the part. this is really useful but i cant seem to find this function in Logic. i know u can press Apple R and the repeat box opens but is there a better way? i know i can alt drag to copy. but i would like a function similar to the Cubase one. let me know guys.

Thanks guys for all ur tips. The Apple D key command in cubase is the command for Duplicate,it duplicates the part or parts selected, one after the other. The repeat function in Cubase is similar to the one in Logic where a box appears and u type in the number of copies u want.

In Logic the repeat loop duplicates everything contained in the loop,with Cubase u can select just one part or many parts regardless of setting a loop and just duplicate them. I still think Logic is a wicked program. In an ideal world both companies would have joined forces and made the best DAW on the planet. but hey its not an ideal world. thanks for ur help.

i was doing a mix in cubase the other day where i grouped the main vox then group the backing vox and then grouped the chorus vox. i then sent all these groups to another new group to control all of these groups volumes. how do i achieve this in Logic? these things still baffle me a bit.

check out a set of Genelecs - 8030A 8020A or save a bit more dosh and get a set of 8040A. i myself have the 8030A's and i love them. i also agree with the rest of the posts here, monitors are a very personal thing, so listen to as many sets as you can. Remember nearfield monitors are not the same as hi fi speakers and it will take u a while to get used to any set u buy. all the best mtec

i know you wouldnt normally record with effects on but how is this acieved in Logic.i have tried but i always end up with a dry file. lets say i want to record a guitar with distortion on it and i would like the effect in the recordrd file.
