Hi all! I am encountering some problem with trying to drag the rx2 files from the logic browser into the the Logic arrange window. I am not able to drag and drop the files into the audio tracks, yet when I double click on the rx2 files, it first display the file info, then let me choose the various options to import the file. I can see some concise file info at the top of the browser window and I can also audition, just cannot drag and drop. I also use AudioFinder, a great audio file manager. It is the same there(or from finder). I just cannot drag any rx2 files into logic. Using spotting it does put an audio region into Logic but it just contain noise. I am running Logic Pro 9.17(32bits) under Lion 10.7 on my Macbook Pro. I have also installed REX Shared Library 1.7 after reading up on some forum. Any comment or suggestion would be most appreciated!

I have been a monthly member of Macprovideo for quite awhile and have found it invaluable to be able to look for info on any topics I need in the videos, the articles and this forum. This is however my first post here, so a big Hi to everybody! I am working on a project to try to create MIDI tracks of a piano piece to be as close a copy to an audio recording of the pianist playing live as possible. I first imported the mp3, beatmapped the file to create various tempo changes, then imported the MIDI file(which is a very brand constant velocity but generally note accurate copy of the same song) and now am trying to make any corrections with timings and dynamics. Now when I am trying to listen to a few bars at a time by looping, I found that whenever the playhead gets to the end of the loop, it tends to stutter and jump back a little before repeating again, and when the loop is played again, the MIDI tracks falls behind the audio track by a split second. This repeats with every loop and by the third or fourth times, the delay of the MIDI track can be more than a full beat long behind the audio track. What would be causing this and how am I able to correct it. Obviously I would need to listen to every phrase repeatedly in order to match the MIDI to the audio closely and with this odd behavior it gets very difficult to say the least! Also if there is an easier way to accomplish what I am trying to do, I would greatly appreciate it as well. :) I am using Logic Pro X 10.0.7 under OSX 10.9.4 on my MacbookPro (Mid2009, 8G RAM)

Have to remind myself NEVER to upgrade my system or software in the middle of a project, but here I am again! Just purchased and installed Melodyne and VocAlign to line up, correct and layer the 40 or so vocal recordings to create a virtual choir. The VocAlign ARA AU requires a later version of Logic and Logic requires a later version of OSX, so I upgraded my OSX to 10.15.7 and Logic to 10.5.1. The OSX upgrade did not pose too much of a problem apart from the usual, and when I tried to start Logic, it took hours to run thru all the AU scanning and identified quite a few outdated and expired trial AU which I just skipped/quitted. Then the error box "You are using incompatible Audio Units" error box popped up(1 AU did not pass Apple Validation) giving me the options to either Start Plug-In Manager or Ignore. I have tried clicking on either one and in both cases it would then just hang there with the pretty spinning circle going on forever. I have tried leaving it overnight but it just would not go away until I force quit Logic itself. I have even tried removing some of the components from /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components, but so far it has not changed a thing. With the project deadline looming, I am starting to get desperate. Any help would be most appreciated! Thankyou so much Joe! It works! Guess my removing the components was on the right track, but I lacked the confidence in doing all of them in fear of creating more problems until I have read your post. Spent hours adding just half of the components back now but I am back working on my project.

Bouncing in place is of course one of the most essential tool we use for our daily working on our audio projects. Today I notice a problem: The resulting bounced audio file does not seem to include the Plugin effect nor their animation. In this example I am bouncing a summation folder of 6 audio tracks, each with their own regional animations, as well as an overall Gain track animation on the Folder track. As all the bounces does not seem to be reflecting the gain plugin settings, I have grossly increased(and decreased) the gain on one small segment to see if this is really the case, and once again the increase of 24dB(!) in gain(or decrease of 96dB) did nothing to the bounced result. I have also tried adding yet another Gain plugin to set at +24dB with no animation, the result was the same. Opening up the folder to select the tracks instead to bounce also made no difference. I am sure that none of my plugins has been bypassed either on the channel strip or the bounce in place dialogue box, and that the track has been selected and soloed. If I just play through, the segment is crazily loud, but not so on the bounced track. I have always thought that bouncing should be what you hear is what you get. This is of great concern as I can never be confident now whether any adjustment I have made before bouncing will be included in the the new bounces. I use bouncing heavily during different stages of my workflow for resources as well as organization and this is one function that I need to be dependable! Any help and suggestion would be greatly appreciated! It is probably just something silly that I have missed(like not setting automation to sample accurate and thus have avoided using it for years!)

Thankyou so much Joe for going to the trouble of testing this out for me. The only differences with your settings from mine would be "include Audio Tail in File" and source "Mute", which really should not make a difference. I was hoping to attach some screenshots but did not know how. I cannot see what other settings would make a difference. The Sample Accurate Automation setting was definitely on. This was one thing that I did not know about for a long time and the inaccuracy of automation almost made me give up on Logic! LOL I ended up doing the normal bounce to an audio file, then drag that back into Logic onto an empty track just so that I can move forward with my Project(deadline tonight!). When I can find some time I will try to do more testing to try to get to the bottom of this. I really need to have the confidence in bip faithfully reproducing what I think I have intended. Will post back here for reference if I can find out more. One thing I am not sure if I have made myself clear was that animation(Gain) was also on the Summation Track itself to vary the overall gain level changes on the entire Stack. Not sure if it would have made a difference.
