Howdy do all I recently saw a youtube toot on two-stage compression. Does anyone know a quick and easily repeatable set-up to pass signal using an aux channel and two seperate bus compressors (one for sections with a higher dynamic range and the other for lower level signals ie. chorus to verse perceived volume evening)? The differnce was certainly audible on my laptop with the engineers mono mic of his tutorial session, I can only imagine what it sounds like at a desk. Much obliged, Michael

Rounik, Thanks for the reply. That colud be a way of accomplishing it. I think the lighter compression is meant to pass through the heavier compression with all the signal aboard. The example I saw uses outboard rack-mounted compressors as opposed to plug-ins so that may have been a limiting factor. Maybe the same effect can be had with plug-ins and a simpler routing method. Hi all, I've been recording my 3-piece band for going on 2 years with various daw's (cool edit/adobe 1.5/2.0, cubase, traktion) and have settled on (not for) Logic Studio because it just [i]sounds[/i] good right away. I've experience with GB that shipped with my imac 2.4 ghz, then purchased le7 as well. I mic drums-8 to 12 channels and isolate a scratch track for vox, instruments etc., for reference to overdub vocal/instrument parts when the rythm bed is down. Not much into midi yet and loops haven't peaked my interest yet either. What tutorial(s) should I start with for my current application of Logic Pro 8? Thanks, Michael

Hi all, When I use track automation on an effect eventually the track will automatically mute itself. I can't figure out why this happens, worse I can't unmute the track (I simply pull the regions out of the audio bin and delete/replace the original region). Also, how do you rename regions so they're more easily recognizable? I guess I'm regionally challenged. Cheers-
