hi guys, i have been trying to get MIDI into logic using my fantom x8 library, i had been trying to do so for months but couldnt find a decent solution, i had tried using the external instruments plug ins, however all the articulations of my patches would be lost. so i did brought LOGIC 105 to help me understand about the enviroment, as i see a need to use it. alright i manage to get the quicktime sythn working if you guys have view the vids, therefore explaining that up till this step i might be working fine. so i created a new layer, new instrument(name it fantomx8) and then i created a new multi instrument cabled it up the new instrument. Alright so this might not be logic problem i check my fantom x8 , its connected via USB. therefore i set the multi instrument port to fantom x8( logic can read my fantom x8 now ) but just to be sure i set the port to ALL, this is because i had some midi cables connecting via KORE too ( midi in from fantom to midi out kore and vice versa ). i check the status of my fantom set the local to off, ensure that fantomx8 is in MIDI mode. i went to the arrange window, click on fantom x8 multi, select a preset. but no sounds seems to be coming up. but i did saw MIDI signals. is there a step i am missing when i am connecting an external sythns, thats bcos i plan to buy a MOTIF XS6 therefore i need to ensure that logic does work with external sythns. thanks guy if you could help me up. thanks for your time :D

appoggee its a system where by its copy something like PROTOOLS HD system. but the thing you have to note is appoggee is a native format, not TDM. well if you buy the appoggee system, you need to have their AD DA convertor, the symphony cards which give your CPU DSP power. however their DSP is termed in an appoggee language. meaning they have their own name for DSP. but it works the same way. lastly you need a cable to link the symphony card with the AD / DA convertor (which must be of appoggee products, you cannot use other AD/DA convertor) another way of increasing your setup , you might considering investing on yet another G5, and link your MAC's via nodes, i am assuming you are a logic user. :) if you are recording something like 8 tracks, you might not need so much of that power after all. i saw some studio using APPLE servers as part of their setups too. :)

ensemble is an audio interface, which is different. okay TDM and Native. well okay imagine your MAC to be 32 bits and 64 bits, the 64 bits, allow you to use more rams and therefore more power as you can utilize more of its power. TDM and Native works something like that, but TDM has a wider bit depth and sample rate if i am not wrong, and use more processing from your computer, compare to NATIVE. therefore TDM if you look at WAVES Plug ins, or any other, TDM cost twice as much as NATIVE plug ins. professional ears are convince they are able to tell the different btw NATIVE and TDM plug in, but really, unless you really really are going to that PRO a quality you dont need TDM at all :D most people cannot tell the difference :D http://www.apogeedigital.com/ this might tell you more about apogee setups :D

yea but it gets frustrating at times. and now theres the new OS coming up, i will bet we need to pay for 7 upgrades again to work with the 64 bit OS :[

hi i would like to have konakt to sync with Logic Pro ,do anyone know how can i achieve this. you see, i had 16 channels in konakt and i want them on 16 different audio instrument channels in logic when i record them. i guess i must have set them in rewire. however, konakt does not automactically become rewired in logic, how can i go about doing it. its really vexing me AHHHHS~~~

heys hi i know i know. my kontakt can be read of course, but i want to use it as a multi instrument. i can use it as a multi instrument but i want to route like instrument 2 of my plug in in kontakt to midi channel 2 etc. I CAN do that on kontakt, but what must i set in logic to recieve the channel inputs? i know its something to do with mulit instrument like that of the drum sythns in logic.

geez you had been a great help. i guess its the same as layering my fantom x8. just to comfirn my tracks became a MIDI track once i used the multi right, and their output are route to my audio instrument :D which i had created. woah this is cool. you see i do not want to call up multiple instances of konakt and tax my MAC. hmms well thanks. you talk about having different processing, but i guess i will leave that aside awhile. if i am not wrong, processing requires the use of an auxililary tracks. for eg, i want to process channel 2 of my konakt, 1) i have to create a multi instrument in my audio instrument channel, 2) create an AUX track open the input, and click konakt 3-4 as 1-2 is already used by my audio instrument 3) i den select channel 2 of my konakt and route my signal to output 3-4. 4) and then i can process channel 2 of konakt indiviually without it influencing or getting the influence from the rest of the channels :D thanks christian!

hmmm i might not havge the answer to your question, but whenever i load logic theres this problem which says project mgr does not have enough memory or something what does this actually means does anyone knows :(
