Converting PAL HD to NTSC HD in FCP
I'm based in the UK and have just bought a PAL Sony FX1E HD Camcorder which I recently took to Canada on vacation. I need to send a DVD of the HD footage back to Canada for their use. Does anyone know if FCP can convert the PAL HD footage to NTSC HD, or will I have to purchase other software to do this? (I have Final Cut Sudio 2 so I'm running the latest version of FCP.) I'm very new to video so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Bruno.

HD is not PAL/NTSC it is HD with a few different frame rates and progressive or interlaced. You could drop the clips into FCS 2 and out put them at 30 or 60 frames. Your canadian User could also change the frame rate. I am not sure if they can use our 25p in the USA/Canada.
