    Insufficent cocntent for editor
Hi, after iMovie 08 I decided to get Final Cut Express 4 and I'm a bit lost with it. I bought the downloadable version of Final Cut 6 101: Video Editing Essentials and looked at how to use video transitions but I still get this error: insufficent content for edit. Now as the part before and after the wanted cross dissolve is in both case several minutes long I fail to understand why I can't have 2 sec cross dissolve in between them ? I've read about either having in and out points (are these the same as something that's called handles ?) or not having them but I got lost at this point :-) So can someone give a total newbie a hand at understanding this. Thanks :-)

Typically this happens if there are no handles on the clip. A handle is a bit of media before or after the in or out point, and this handle is used to create the transition. If you have those handles, I'm not sure what could be causing the error. Try moving the transition left and right over the edit ... you might have handles on one clip, and not the other, so it could help if the transition is not centered on the edit.
