How do I download video from Sony HDR-SR11, USB output to FCS7?
Now you know why my name is complete idiot. Arrrrr. I was told by a salesperson that the Sony HDR-SR11 was compatible with FCS. Also, in online comparisons with Cannon, no mention was made as to FCS compatibility. I LOVE being ignorant! How do I download via USB to FCS7, and make the AVCHD format user friendly? Is there a tutorial to help me get my input set ups and output set ups set properly? Please HELP!

Sounds to me like the Salesperson purely wants to increase his/her sales :( The Canon HV20 is a breeze to work with FCP, to log and capture footage. To log and capture footage from a camcorder it needs to have a firewire connection. You will need to copy the .mts files from your Sony HDR-SR11 onto your Mac manually (by dragging them to a new folder in the Finder). There is a support article here on working with AVCHD files: http://documentation.apple.com/en/finalcutpro/professionalformatsandworkflows/#chapter=6%26section=2 Do let us know if that helps.
