    FCE import using massive storage
    hi folks, i am importing AVCHD from a Sony TG3 (using log and xfer) and 55 mins worth from a 16GB card has so far used 80Gb of storage, can anyone help please? thanks

    thanks well my "easy setup" settings are: 25fr AVCHD AIC 1920x1080i50 does log and xfer have its own settings? thanks again FTG

    55 mins at 1080i is going to create pretty large files because AVCHD is highly compressed and needs to be uncompressed to be able to edit in Final Cut. Have you tried using a different codec: e.g. HDV AIC p25 or changing the Video format to Apple Intermediate in the Log and Transfer settings? Hope that helps Rounik
