    Working off a cd?
Hello there I have some footage and project files stored on a cd. However when I try to access the material things seem slower than usual. Someone advised me to copy everything from the cd to my computer or the external hard drive. I did that but for some reason Final Cut pro can't see the media (It is offline) without the CD's presence inside my computer. What could I be doing wrong? This is in final cut pro 7? Thanks. Any response would be appreciated!

Hi Pierre, Definitely! Never try editing audio or video from an opticial disc like a CD or DVD. They are far too slow. Open you project in Final Cut Pro 7 and in the Bin you'll see the media with a red cross through it. This indicates it is offline. Right-click on the file and choose Re-Connect (or similar wording). Then navigate to and choose the location of the footage on your hard drive. Hope that helps Rounik
